Cryptus Exchange bybit has implemented a three-stage security update to prevent another breach like the one that occurred in February 2025.
In the month following the hack, the exchange conducted nine security audits involving both in-house and independent experts, which resulted in the implementation of 50 new security measures, the company said.
Crypto exchange team bybit said it had tightened its cold wallet protocols, introduced an updated security process that includes full oversight by security experts throughout the wallet process, and implemented multi-party computation.
In addition, hardware security modules have been combined to provide a higher level of hardware security. bybit now has ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security risk management. It also said it encrypts all internal and external communications and data storage.
Despite the attack, bybit was able to almost completely restore the liquidity level that was before the hack, and its LazarusBounty team continues to search for the stolen funds. To date, the exchange has paid out more than $2,3 million in rewards.
