Darknet marketplace BidenCash has ceased operations

The marketplace has ceased operations after a large-scale special operation carried out by US law enforcement. They blocked about 145 domains and an unknown number of cryptocurrencies related to this platform.

BidenCash is a darknet marketplace that sells stolen credit and debit card data. The platform appeared in March 2022 and, according to the US Department of Justice, has served over 117,000 users since its launch. In addition, over 15 million card numbers along with personal information about their owners have “passed” through the service. BidenCash’s total revenue exceeded $17 million.

The darknet marketplace also sold compromised credentials for unauthorized access to computers. Between October 2022 and February 2023, the BidenCash team distributed 3,3 million such records for free. This tactic was most likely used to promote its services to cybercriminals and attract new users.

U.S. law enforcement has also received court permission to seize digital assets linked to BidenCash’s illegal activities, although officials have not yet disclosed how much money is involved.

The US government is actively fighting against such darknet sites. In March, for example, they imposed sanctions against the operator of the now-defunct online marketplace Nemesis, which was used to sell drugs, fake documents, professional hacking resources, and a host of other illegal services for cybercriminals.
