Sony Launches Soneium Developer Funding Program

Tech company has announced the launch of For All, a blockchain incubator for its new second-layer network Soneium. The main goal of the program is to stimulate the development of new consumer and gaming applications on the platform.

The incubator, created by Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL), will support developers working on the Soneium Minato testnet. According to the announcement, selected projects will be able to receive funding of up to $100,000, with additional investment opportunities available through a network of partner firms.

The project’s partners included several leaders of the Web3 industry: Circle, Alchemy, chainlink, The Graph and Optimism. The platform’s Minato testnet is also supported by Astar Network, which provides liquidity and a range of digital assets for developers to build and test their applications.

According to Sony Block Solutions Labs Director Ryohei Suzuki, it is important for the company to “lower the barriers to entry for developers and improve user access to blockchain technology.” He emphasized that the incubator is part of a long-term strategy to deepen the involvement of blockchain developers in the global developer community. The project is also supported by Startale, a Web3 infrastructure provider, and the Sony Innovation Fund.
